Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

Your safari begins with a warm welcome at the airport or your Nairobi hotel. Journey north through dramatic landscapes, crossing the Equator into Samburu National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive in search of the “Samburu Special Five” – the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

Spend the day exploring this arid yet wildlife-rich region. Morning and afternoon game drives bring you close to elephants along the Ewaso Nyiro River, graceful antelopes, and predators on the prowl. Optional cultural visit to a Samburu village.

Day 3: Samburu – Thomson’s Falls – Lake Nakuru National Park

Depart after breakfast, heading south via Nyahururu to admire the picturesque Thomson’s Falls. Enjoy lunch en route before continuing to Lake Nakuru National Park, famed for rhinos and flocks of flamingos. Afternoon game drive before settling in for the night.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, drive through the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara. Afternoon game drive on arrival to spot lions, cheetahs, elephants, and possibly leopards.

Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve

A full day on safari in one of Africa’s greatest wildlife havens. Morning and afternoon game drives or a full-day exploration with picnic lunch by the Mara River.

Day 6: Masai Mara – Nairobi – End of Safari

After breakfast, return to Nairobi. Enjoy a farewell lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant before heading to the airport for your flight home. Alternatively, overnight in Nairobi and prepare for your Amboseli extension.

Optional Extension: Amboseli National Park (Days 7–8)

Drive to Amboseli, famous for its large elephant herds and views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Two days of game drives and stunning photography opportunities before returning to Nairobi on Day 8 for departure.
